Q: How do I book an appointment for physical rehabilitation or acupuncture for my pet?
A: All appointments are by referral only, so please see your regular veterinarian first.
Q: How long will an initial appointment take?
A: Initial visits for acupuncture take about an hour. In the initial assessment, baseline measurements, such as joint "range of motion" angles ("goniometry") and limb circumferences may be required. Also, animals presenting for acupuncture may also benefit from physical rehabilitation techniques and vice versa. During the initial appointment all available options will be presented for your pet.
Q: Does acupuncture hurt?
A: Most pets find acupuncture quite relaxing (or at least they seem to based on the number of animals that tend to fall asleep!). Some animals may be reluctant to stay still for the length of time required for a treatment- we can usually work around this with some patience!
Q: Can cats receive acupuncture?
A: Cats can certainly benefit from acupuncture. Just as the temperament of each cat is different, so is their tolerance for treatments. Each cat will be assessed individually as to their suitability to receive treatments.
