Rehabilitation Hospitalization

What Is Rehabilitation Hospitalization?

At the 404 Veterinary Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, we realize than providing at-home care for debilitated animals in need of aggressive rehabilitation is not always possible for a variety of reasons. For cases such as these, we are able to offer hospitalization for pets in need of ongoing veterinary care, in addition to rehabilitation.

Who Is It For?

The most common indication for "rehabilitation hospitalization" are recovering neurological cases, which are initially unable to walk, urinate or defecate on their own. These cases can pose significant strain (both physically and mentally) on their owners, and at the 404 Veterinary Hospital Rehabilitation Centre we are here to help!

Facilities

A Hospital Without the "Hospital Feel or Smell"

It is important to realize that healing for these cases is as much about maintaining an animal's emotional well-being as it is about healing the body. For this reason, we have purposefully located the Rehabilitation Centre on one side of the hospital (separated from other "non-rehabilitation" hospitalized cases by Reception) to minimize the hospital "feel" for the rehabilitation patients.

Amenities

The Rehabilitation Centre is bathed in natural light, and animal housing is located right in the "thick of things" providing mental stimulation and a constant interaction from the rehabilitation staff. The rehabilitation Centre features over-sized runs with non-slip rubber flooring for larger patients, and a ceiling lift to facilitate lifting heavier patients.

24 Hour Care

24-hr care is available with a veterinarian on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
